MARY KATRANTZOU at david jones

My first show for this years LMFF and it was incred. Just when you think you are safe and feel like the winter wardrobe is coming along nicely, bang you get a whole lot of DJ’s in your face and you are back to square one with the need for all of these pretty new things. Oh the life of a shop-o-holic/fashion obsessed gal. Any who moving onto the show, it was opened in spectacular ‘fashion’ by the festivals special guest Miss Mary Katrantzou, the greek goddess of print. The detail and structure of these garments are true works of art. They left me speechless. The color, the structure, the silhouette – just amazing.

I know I should have been banned from the store in the aftermath of the show with the wish list screaming my name. We were invited to have a chat and learn more about the process behind the gloss. Mary spoke of her inspirations and methods in creating with her family tradition of stamp collecting, astro turf and pencils all taking form into these dresses. If you didn’t know who she was before this post do yourself a favour and look her up, she is an amazing woman who’s label goes beyond that of designer fashion and into the world of art and couture.

The new ‘it’ bag(s) to hit the streets and I love them. Featured in Vogue’s christmas gift guide and a hot campaign to boot. So many choices and a few of the bags have multiple ways to use and wear. The luggage tote is incredible but then again I love them all. First on my list is the LSC bag. The gold detailing, the black leather, the chain strap – swooning! Watch this brand. It’s coming.

One of my visits to see the gorgeous girls at The Lofft  was to view all things Wildfox. They are the best in relaxed, casual wear with an edge.The perfect wide shaped sleeved singlets, cotton beach dresses and the best motif tees in the biz (more of that later). DALLAS AND CARLOS SS 13 – SHIPWRECK

I fell for this brand after seeing gold letter charms hanging from the necks of the beautiful people all over the net. Together two Bondi babes bring a relaxed and originally crafted pieces that is Dallas and Carlos. The amazing new lookbook images had me hooked (sorry about the pun) and the range blew me away. So very cute with anchors and love hearts on gold and silver mixed bracelets. Love the fine jewellery with skulls and crosses and of course you cant go past the chunky gold charm bracelet.  The only prob is deciding which ones to buy and not go totally broke! Love the collection has pieces named after the best Disney movie ever too. Top picks the Triton ring, Ariel bracelet, neptune bracelet and Argo necklace.
